Kangaroo Hop Privacy Policy
The short version: Kangaroo Hop does not collect, store or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your progress stays on your device.
Who we are
Kangaroo Hop is a game for iPhone, iPad, Android and Meta Quest made by rawshutterimages ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you, or anyone in your family, play it.
What we collect
Nothing. The game does not send any information to us or to anyone else. It contains no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting tools, no social features run by us, and no third-party code that collects data. It works fully offline.
What stays on your device
To remember progress, the game saves a small amount of game information on the device itself:
- coins, passport stamps, souvenirs, stars, outfits and achievements;
- best distances, settings (sound, level, display options) and daily-streak dates;
- a simple play history for the in-game "Your stats" screen (how long runs lasted and what bumped Roo).
This never leaves the device, except as part of your own device backups (for example iCloud Backup, which Apple handles, or Android's backup to the player's own Google account). Deleting the app deletes it, on Meta Quest too.
Game Center (Apple)
If the player is signed in to Apple's Game Center, the game sends scores and achievements to Game Center so they can appear on Apple's leaderboards. Game Center is run by Apple: other players may see the Game Center nickname and score. We never see the player's Apple ID, name or contact details. Parents can turn Game Center off, or limit it, in Screen Time; the game plays exactly the same without it. Apple's handling of this information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Purchases
The game has one optional purchase, the Full World Tour. It is protected by a grown-ups-only question and is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive payment details, names or email addresses; the App Store only tells the game whether the purchase has been made. Family members can be prevented from buying with Ask to Buy and Screen Time.
Android (Google Play)
On Android phones and tablets, Kangaroo Hop works the same way: the first five cities are free and one optional purchase, the Full World Tour, opens the rest. It is protected by the same grown-ups question and is processed entirely by Google through Google Play. We never receive payment details, names or email addresses; Google Play only tells the game whether the purchase has been made. Family members can be prevented from buying with Google Family Link and Play purchase approvals. The Android version has no Game Center and no sharing, and sends nothing to us or to anyone else. Google's handling of your account and purchases is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.
Meta Quest
On Meta Quest, Kangaroo Hop is bought once from the Meta Horizon Store, with every city included. It has no in-app purchases, no Game Center and no sharing, and it sends nothing to us or to anyone else, exactly as on iPhone and iPad. The purchase is handled entirely by Meta: we never receive payment details, names or email addresses. Meta's handling of your account and purchases is covered by the Meta Quest privacy policy.
Sharing and clips
The game can make a picture or a short video clip of a run. These are made on the device from the game screen only (no camera and no microphone are used). Nothing is shared unless the player chooses Share, which opens Apple's own share menu; where it goes from there is up to the person sharing. We do not receive anything that is shared.
Children
Kangaroo Hop is a game for all ages, and many of its players are children. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not collect it from children. This is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR.
Permissions
The game does not ask for access to the camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location or notifications.
Changes to this policy
If the game ever changes in a way that affects privacy, we will update this page and change the date at the top before the update is released.
